幕僚長尤利烏斯·德布拉（Julius Debrah）表示，總統與政府已向罹難者家屬致上最深切哀悼與慰問，為表達對罹難者的追思，總統已下令降半旗致哀，並取消所有官方活動行程。值得注意的是，博阿馬原是前通訊部長，今年一月才被馬哈馬總統任命為國防部長。目前墜機原因仍在調查中，當局承諾將全力查明真相。
